It took a while to get around to fixing up the yard. I hate to admit we let it really get away from us for a while. I guess having young kids will do that to you.

470: This dead tree had to come down. We started by removing the branches with a pole saw.

471: We couldnt risk it damaging the pool or fence, so we topped it with the pole saw, then worked our way down as far as we could. Once it was low enough to reach with a ladder, the chainsaw made quick work of the trunk.

451: We added a few sprinkler heads in teh front and side yard. We also moved to a smart irrigation controller. That definitely cut down on water bills, and helped keep the grass some shade of green in the mid summer,

452: After looking for what we assumed was a missing or sunken head, wedecided to just add another head in the side yard. Unfortunately while trenching, I managed to cut not only my own fiber, but my neighbors as well (right on property line). This was right after they buried the spliced fiber, this way I dont accidentally dig there again.

453: Our low sprinkler pressure was actually due to a poly line being pinched between roots of this tree. I was able to trace the run by disconnecting the pipe from the zone valve, and inserting a metal snake as far as I could go, then using an inductive tracer to find the path it took across our lawn. I could find where the signal ended, and knew where to dig. Ultimately, we used a few elbows to go around the root, rather than risk cutting a a very large root and potentially losing the tree.

454: Previously, we had red rock around the perimiter of the house. We decided to do mulch beds instead, and added some poly edging we picked up for almost free.
